Salisbury (who also lent his name to the illustrious Salisbury steak) advocated that American Civil War soldiers eat chopped beef patties three times a day, specifically to combat diarrhea, and generally, for optimum health. (Salisbury is reputed to have died in 1905 from megacolon, resulting from a massive beef impaction in the bowel. Fischerspooner would, in later years, pay tribute to the Salisbury steak in their hit song, Megacolon.)

Oddly, official hamburger timelines make no mention of Dr. Salisbury, and it remains unclear as to which war with Germany, if any, prompted the patriotic renaming of the German-sounding "hamburger" as Salisbury steak.

The cheeseburger is reputed to have originated in Pasadena, CA - thought up after hours by stoned NASA technicians at Caltech's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (otherwise unknown for its culinary advancements). The beginnings of the bacon cheeseburger, however, are shady and difficult to determine. It is thought that the tasty combination came about as early as 1924 in radical Jewish school lunchrooms, the combined product of long study hours, strict gender-segregated educational practices, and yeshiva gang initiation rituals. However attractive a theory, this is totally unsubstantiated. Therefore, any information on the first reported placement of bacon strips on the cheeseburger will be appreciated.

It's not just for breakfast anymore

Is there anything bacon doesn't improve?
-replenishes the salt necessary to human life
-good source of fat, which is necessary to human life
-adds that "something special" to eggs, pancakes, pasta, salads, sandwiches, meatloaf, soup, hors d'ouvres, beans,
and vegetable sides
-softens hands while you do the dishes

Why traif hurts everyone

"Traif" is just another big fancy word for ignorance.
